Tuscan Lakes visitor wins trip to Italy
Tuscan Lakes visitor wins trip to Italy (League City, TX – July 2008) A home-shopping expedition to the Italy-inspired Tuscan Lakes had led to a trip to the real thing for one lucky visitor. Jason Clifton of League City won a trip for two to Tuscany, in the hills of Italy, courtesy of the community. More than 100 people registered online for the prize, a six-night stay valued at $5,000, after visiting a Tuscan Lakes model home. Clifton, a police officer, picked up his winning registration number during a visit to the Newmark Homes model in late December. “We are so happy for Jason and his guest,” said Tuscan Lakes general manager Bob Douglas. “After visiting the community and sampling the flavor of Tuscany, Jason and his guest can immerse themselves in the Italian countryside with this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.” Planned for 1,850 homes, Tuscan Lakes is dedicating more than 150 acres of open space to enhance its Mediterranean style. Architectural elements reminiscent of the Tuscany region of Italy are integrated into amenities and common areas including an aqueduct at its main entrance, parks, resort-style pools, lakes, nature preserves, water features, greenbelts, walkways and jogging trails. Already open is a Tuscan-themed recreation center, with arched arcade fronts, stone accents and a tower. The multi-use swimming pool includes a tot pool, swimming area and zero-entry area with a spray park. With nearly 5,300 square feet of water play, the pool wraps around a large, circular rise landscaped with Italian cypress trees. The complex also features gathering space anchored by a massive stone fireplace and shaded by an arbor, and a large children’s playground with slides, swings, two age-appropriate climbing structures and rolling terrain for added adventure. Meandering pedestrian walkways link the complex to the community trail system. An 870-acre mixed-use development, Tuscan Lakes offers homes from the $150,000s to more than $1 million. Builders include Coventry Homes, David Powers Homes, Highland Homes, Meritage Homes, Newmark Homes, Wilshire Homes, Chesmar Homes and Royce Builders. Custom builders are Dan Wallrath Homes, Harbour Classic Builders, Marsters Company and Masterpiece Custom Homes.
